  • About: San Gerardo de Dota is a picturesque mountain village nestled in the Talamanca Mountains of Costa Rica. Known for its cool climate, lush cloud forests, and the pristine Savegre River, it offers a serene escape into nature. The area is renowned for birdwatching, particularly for sightings of the resplendent quetzal, and provides opportunities for hiking, trout fishing, and exploring waterfalls.

  • Possible Wildlife: Resplendent Quetzal, Talamanca Hummingbird, Fiery-throated Hummingbird, Northern Emerald Toucanet, Black-billed Nightingale-Thrush, Golden-browed Chlorophonia, Sooty Thrush, Volcano Junco, Puma, Baird’s Tapir, Jaguar, Sloths, Monkeys, Ocelot, and various frogs and salamanders.
